Dear Friends and Family,

I can't believe it, November is over! Pretty soon, it's going to be Christmas! I hope you enjoy the latest photos for the 2nd part of November. I am still working on my Biology. It's driving me crazy sometimes. But oh well, no pain, no gain. Do keep in touch! Love you all!

I went to the dentist and found out that I needed some teeth done. Pretty expensive! $250! This is dentist's lamp. When he went to answer the phone (He was working on my teeth that time), I decided to take a photo while I was lying there waiting for him to come back. He hehe.

The dental team in Fernie. The guy in orange is Dr. Demmings. He only does white fillings. Most Medical Insurance do not cover white fillings, so be warned. It could be quite pricey.

Cookie anyone? - Hmmmm. It made me happy.

Roses at the grocery store. I just thought they were pretty.

Ron going into a restaurant in Cranbrook, BC. I took this as we were going in for dinner that time.

A Very Formal Dinner in Cranbrook. $129.00 per head. But that counted $50.00 donation. This was the 26th Annual Museum Fund raising Event. 2008 Pre-Christmas Gala Dinner at the Royal Alexandra Hall, at the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel in Cranbrook, BC.

This was our table. The hostess said "Just so everyone knows, we start with the utensils from the outside going in" and everyone laughed. I'm sure that was meant to be funny, but I needed to know that! hahahah! *blush*

A Quartet named "The Baker Street" singing some Christmas songs. They were good!

A politician was talking in front.

The ceiling as seen from where I was sitting. I was told (If I remember it right) that this entire hall was actually a product of restoration from an old hotel in the early 1900's in Manitoba . Beautiful isn't it?

After the dinner. We had so much fun. It was cold outside. About minus 5 degrees Celcius. I took this from where we had parked, just before we headed home.

I found a site on the internet that's supposed to make a "South Park" cartoon of people. This was my cartoon. Hmmmmm. What do you think?.

November 1-15, 2008

November 2, 2008 - Sunday. Ron, Frank and I went for dinner at one of the Chinese Restaurants in Cranbrook, BC. This ine is called "The Lucky Star". We were the first people to come for the buffet at 4:30PM! ha ha ha!

November 4, 2008 - Tuesday. It started snowing today (It's late fall). I think this was this year's first snow fall in this area. I look outside and for sure, winter is definitely coming here already.

November 5, 2008 - Still can't get over that "Oh My Gulay! - We have snow already" feeling.

November 5, 2008 - Wednesday. Tonight we found out as it was happening - Obama won the US Presidential race. Wow. Did you see it on TV too? I was touched by it! It brought tears to my eyes. Wow. I sure hope he does an excellent job. Bush was the worst President of the US according to one report on TV. Such a Pity that he had created so much problems - that now, Obama's main job is to fix what Bush had created. What a loser Bush was.

November 7, 2008 - Friday. Talking outside in the dark. Waiting for the car engines to warm up.

November 7, 2008 - Dinner at home with some friends

November 9, 2008 - Sunday. I found out I am now 165 lbs. (I should only weigh between 139 to 145 lbs) at 5'5". That's the reason why my feet and my heels are in pain again only after a few minutes of walking. I realize I have to start doing something about it again. I constantly struggle with my weight. So sad. I checked the scale again after a few days and to my horror - i was 170lbs. Another 5 lbs heavier! *aaaww!!!*

November 11, 2008 - Tuesday. Eric had to be brought to the Hospital. They had found that he had blood on his brain and It needed to be drained out otherwise, he would have a stroke. Scary!

November 12, 2008 - Wednesday , Foothills Hospital, Calgary, Alberta.

November 12, 2008 - Wednesday. Eric is awake and full of life! after the brain surgery *Sigh of relief* . Everyone is so happy to see him well.

November 12, 2008 - I should be walking.

So I decided to take the elevator to go downstairs, Then from the 1st floor, I started walking up to the 11th floor. The stairs were more challenging than I thought! It brought my heart rate up
and I felt really good after. Here is a glimpse of the 11 floors.

Finally - 11th floor! I should do this more often. I need to exercise!

I decided to take a photo of the glass bricks. I liked the colors!

This is the Hospital Waiting Area.

November 12, 2008 - In the afternoon, we all finally head on our way back home to Elko.

November 14, 2008 - Friday. Today is my 33rd Birthday. Here on this photo you see Karolyn and Tara - It's Tara's Birthday on the 16th and she had decided she wanted to treat us for lunch! It was so thoughtful!

Victoria -my classmate.

Tara and Aurora

After a nice lunch, we all had to get back to class. I had to go and complete my Lab work and Chemistry Test. I still have so much to do!

Ron and I went to watch a movie in the evening. We drove 45 minutes to Cranbrook.

This was the movie we went to watch. It's comedy. It does require a lot of open mind. Keep your mind open, and your judgements aside, It's really quite funny.

The Movie Theatre in Cranbrook, just as we were leaving for home after the show.

When we got home, just as I got in the door, Tim and Eric and Ron started singing "Happy Birthday" That was really good of them. Then I realised they were singing excitedly so we can all right away start digging into the cake! hahaha! That was funny! Thanks so much! I really appreciate it!

Ron's hand. I took this from earlier when we were at the movie theatre. One of the posters were taken off from the display and it left this nice white Background for this shot. I should have taken a side profile silhoette. I forgot to!

This is my hand. Until next, e-mail! Thanks for dropping in! Thank you so much to the e-mails and Happy birthday greetings you guys sent. I really appreciate them! Although I only had a few birthday e-mails this year, I am quite happy that my dearest and closest friends and family still remember me on my birthday! Salamat po! Love you all!

Family and Friends, I hope you enjoy the photos! Love you all! - Edgar

Taken one afternoon on our walk.

Ron and Paul Walking one afternoon

The Fallen Leaves

This is Rabbit Mountain. I love going to that mountain. It's not very high - but it is high enough. This is where I get to have a 360 degree view of Elko and the surrounding areas.

Fox - having a drink from Elk River.

The Elk River - this is the now very common view from our walks.

Elkford - One sunday Afternoon, Ron, Myself, Frank and Mike decided to go to Elkford, BC for a drive because both Mike and I have never been there before. I found Elkford to feel "Sad". I wouldn't really want to live in the town area. Something with how the shadow lands in the town area that make it depressing. It's the lighting. It seemed too dark. And since everyone was at work the time we went driving around, the whole town looked dead. I would probably die If i was forced to live there.

A drive to Elkford, BC. This is what the town of Elkford is all about. Mining. What you see here are huge pipes that channel the coal from the mines to where they can be transported via train.

Waiting for Dinner . After that quick drive around the town of Elkford, We stopped by this Chinese Restaurant in Sparwood Called the Aruana. I had lemon chicken with rice and Ribs. It was good - but I've had better. Very friendly waitress though.

I call this picture "The Terrified Log!" I quick snapshot from the car. In Canada (when I was working for Luke), I learned how to chop wood for Winter. I am still terrified of axes. I guess it is because I find it violent. It still scares me.

When I first saw this truck sitting on the ground like that in Calgary, I thought to myself "What were they thinking? Isn't that weird?" I found out later from inquiries that It doesn't drive as is. When the ignition is turned, it lifts up and turns into a Normal truck. Hmmmm.

Look out! - The C- Train in Calgary one evening. I never plan for my photos. I take them as they come. I know I could have a taken a better picture, but that would mean waiting for another 20 minutes to take a more artistic photo. I do not really care to do that.

The Bridge - Calgary, Alberta. I asked Ron to just walk ahead of me. This was a nice wooden bridge close to The Calgary Zoo area. We went for our afternoon walk. This time in Calgary. I love going out for walks in different areas - because I see so many new things.

"Is that a Mallord Duck?" asked the King. I said, "Yes, Ma-llord"

Ron and his tiny Camera. Calgary, Alberta. I always like adding a human subject in any of my photos. In this photo, Ron allows me to remember what I feel like during that time. I guess I try and capture feelings along with my photographs as well.

The Lonely Runner. This is another sample of how I can capture that feeling of running by myself - through another. When one knows the "Rule of thirds" - balance and composition - and your camera's metering system, You can take photos of anything you want.

The Camera Store, Calgary, Alberta. Ron and I went to look at Cameras. I will be using the $250 Gift Card I won from London Drugs to get a better camera someday soon. As the types of cameras I want are all above the $250 mark, I have to add a few more $$$ to get a new Camera. Now how is that going to happen?

So far, I have decided I will be looking forward to a new Canon Poweshot SX 10. It is powerful and affordable. It is an SLR-Like camera. To go with an SLR digital right now would be inconvenient for me- too heavy, too bulky, plus with an SLR you need so many lenses, and it is soooo expensive, I cannot afford it. For the type of photography I do, this camera will be perfect for me.

Headless! - The dresses are OK. The Mannequins bother me.

Another Bridge - Calgary, Alberta. I know that the homeless people of Calgary usually like hanging out under the bridge. Poverty is found here too. Mental Illness and drug and alcohol and other chemical dependency does this to some. I wonder if they thought "I need to do this. To be here, and be homeless" I wonder if perhaps they need this to awaken something inside them. Perhaps a higher power actually wants them to learn and become the best they can be - and this might be the situation that will just bring about that. I just hope they all find a way to empower themselves very soon. I only wish the best for them. But they have to do it themselves and they have to really want to help themselves. I wonder how I would turn out If by some circumstance, I had turned into one of them. I'd probably be dead. I don't think I can be that strong sometimes to deal with my own sadness - but for some reason I know that If I did, I will survive somehow.

Teacher's Tara and Mary - and fellow ABE student Karolyn at the College of The Rockies in Fernie.

This means "Edgar" in Perso-Arabic Script.

October 28, 2008 - I arrived at the Calgary International Airport this day 4 yrs ago. I look back at the years. So much has happened since then. Time is so amazing.

Today, we had a free seminar of the 4 major personality styles based on colors Green, Blue, Gold, Orange. I found out from the test that my personality type is arranged by order as Green (Thinking) , Blue (Feeling), Gold (Order), Orange (Spontaneousness). Green's and Blue's each actually comprise only 13% of the total population. Majority being Gold at 43% and the rest is Orange.

That's why it's so hard to find people like me! There is not that many Green people out there!

I had also gone online to look at Other personality Type Tests and this is what I have found out about me:

ESTJ - "Administrator". Much in touch with the external environment. Very responsible. Pillar of strength. 8.7% of total population.
Take Free Myers-Briggs Personality Test

The Free Seminar - Personaly Types based on 4 colors Gold, Blue, Green and Orange.

Back to my Chemistry book. I have so much to read I feel like crying!!!!, But Oh well - enough drama! One page at a time. Soon it will be done!

Happy Halloween! Thank goodness we don't have Halloween trick or treating in the Philippines. This North American Tradition doesn't make sense to me at all. Apparently it's supposed to be fun. I don't quite get it though. But here we are putting on our Halloween costume for 10 seconds for a bit of "fun" . After which we just neatly fold them away and store them again till some weird occasion comes up. Ha ha ha!

January 26, 2016

Today Ron comes home from his long Vacation. I am so excited for his homecoming that I decided to make an art wall. Lots of meas...
