Vancouver Gay Pride 2008

August 6, 2008

Dear Friends and Family,

How are things coming along on your side of the planet? I am hoping all is well. As for me (and Ron), things have been busy and exciting. I guess you can say that it is one of those times in a year when you can just take off and have a great break from it all. Our one week Vancouver trip started on July 29 and just concluded yesterday - August 5 at 7:00 PM. There is just way too much stories to tell. I found I had taken about 1500 photos. I tried to just make a video of the entire trip to save me the agony of having to upload every single one of them. I have summarized my experience in 33 photos and 1 video. I hope you enjoy this month's update. Please do find the time to write me an e-mail or just click on the comment link at the bottom of this entry to let me know you dropped in.

Big Hugs to all and much love. Edgar

Some people go crazy for these beads. Personally, I don't really care for them! Hahahaha

Two Words: Kindness and thoughtfulness!

August 3, 2008 - The Vancouver Gay Pride Parade. I should photoshop this sould I would look more obvious in the photo.

August 4, 2008 - The next day. We left Vancouver. This is the East end (Where we spent 4 days in Vancouver was in the West end). This shot reminds me of the poverty in Manila, Philippines (My country) . Are you guys surprised? I knew I was when I saw it this place for the first time. I never thought I would see something like this in Canada. I have come to a conclusion that everywhere in the world there is poverty - somewhere. I sense a lot of sadness here.

August 4, 2008 - *Boo!* did I scare you? Ha ha ha! I actually scared myself! Ron and I stopped for gas at this Chevron gas station somewhere in Vancouver. I went to use the washroom and realised that the only thing they had in there for lighting was this purple, neon flourescent light. You know, the ones that make all the white stand out in the dark? Well the white of my eyes and my teeth, and the faded pattern on my jeans stood out so I decided to take my camera and capture my silly moments. I was playing with the lighting and making ghost impressions like a kid in there. I had 3 minutes of fun at least - until I realised I had to snap out of it. Haha. I wonder why they put that lighting in there. MY guess is that they just didn't want people to stay in there too long.

August 5, 2008 - Tuesday - Frank having lunch in Salmon Arm.

August 5, 2008 - Tuesday , This is what I had at the lunch buffet in Salmon Arm. I got to taste everything! I'm so stuffed! I used to stuff myself at least 3,500 calories each time I found myself in a buffet. I always felt so bad after that I think It is high time I change my approach to buffets. I still got to eat all I want. This time it worked. I hope it works again next time.

August 5, 2008 - Tuesday, on our way back home. Ron did most of the driving this time. I think I only drove 2 hours. He drove the rest of the 7 hour trip. I was tired. Here is a Video of the entire trip. I thought a video would summarize it enough. Please leave comments. Love you all! Big Hugs from Edgar (& Ron)

    Have a seat . . Relax . . . And read this very slowly.

    I Believe...
That just because two people argue,
it doesn't mean they don't love each other.

And just because they don't argue,
it doesn't mean they do love each other.

    I Believe...
That we don't have to change friends, if
    we understand that friends change.

    I Believe...
That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt
you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

    I Believe...
That true friendship continues to grow, even over
the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

    I Believe...
That you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life.

    I Believe...
That it's taking me a long time
to become the person I want to be.

    I Believe...
That you should always leave loved ones with
loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

    I Believe...
That you can keep going long after you think you can't.

    I Believe...
That we are responsible for what
we do, no matter how we feel.

    I Believe...
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

    I Believe...
That heroes are the people who do what has to be done
when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

    I Believe...
That money is a lousy way of keeping score.

    I Believe...
That my best friend and I, can do anything,

or nothing, and have the best time.

    I Believe...
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you
when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.

    I Believe...
That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

    I Believe...
That maturity has more to do with what types
of experiences you've had and what you've
learned from them and less to do with how
    many birthdays you've celebrated.

    I Believe...
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.

sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself..

    I Believe...
That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.

    I Believe...
That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but, we are responsible for who we become.

    I Believe...
That you shouldn't be so eager to find
out a secret. It could change your life Forever.

    I Believe...
Two people can look at the exact same
thing and see something totally different..

    I Believe...
That your life can be changed in a matter of
hours by people who don't even know you.

    I Believe...
That even when you think you have no more to give, when
a friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.

    I Believe...
That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

    I Believe...
That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

    I Believe....
That you should send this to all of the people that you believe in,
    I just did.

  2. Dear Edgar,

Very nice photos and I admire your skill in photography, really. I wish we have the time to organize photos and upload them too. Adrienne and Nicole love to do this in their multiply and friendster but I don't think they have completely uploaded all.

Glad to know you are doing well, cousin. Regards and all the best.
