My Dear Mama, Friends & Family,

This Month I had the opportunity to get away for an 11 day Vacation with Ron in Vancouver. It was my first time to visit that spectacular city. I had so much fun! I also experimented with my hair and found out I had more hair than I imagined! *chuckle*

Here's myself with cornrow braids. After a week, I just had to have it unbraided & when they undid them, "POOF!!!!" my hair went. It actually looked to me like afro hair and I just asked the stylist to make it look like that instead of cutting it plain short.

Well after the hairstylist revised my suggestion about afro look, This is what she came up with. To me it looked so new! I've never seen myself with so much hair that it is actually fun! To think I was going to cut it really short minutes ago. Now I am glad I didn't. Oh! I am so Vain! I deserve it after nearly 2 years of not caring what I looked like!

down by the bay people were waiting for the fireworks display. It was very dark when i took this picture. I had to take this photo at slow shutter speed so details could come up instead of just darkness. I couldn't quite get itt right. my hands were just too unsteady. The pics I took with the tripod was not as interesting.

Things to do today:

1. Leave by 2:30pm and Drive to Kimberley (11 hours).
2. Switch to "Get Back to Work" mode

I drove only 3 hours while Ron drove the rest of the way. Ron (with Mike) dropped me off in Kimberley at 2:30AM (I had to work right away) , and Ron still had to drive an Hour and 15 from there to Elko. We were all exhausted after. Back to reality.

I just had to have this picture taken. Right behind me is the town of Fernie. That is where Ron was born and where Michael's house is. Going down is hard on the legs. Got to keep my balance. Because the climb is steep, I just had to focus on the ground ahead of me to keep from getting shaky.

Here is a picture of Ron ahead of me when we finally got closer to the base of the mountain. Here the mountain is no longer as steep as you can see, but I remember my legs were starting to buckle a bit. Those walking sticks do help when the legs are getting weaker. When we got to the bottom where we started off we were all so happy! It was a whole day's hike. Then we went for a beer, Dropped Mike and Dino off and drove back to Elko. What a great day off! Thank you God!

Send me an e-mail when you can ok?

    Hey Bro,

Thanks for the continuous influx of pics. Looks as though you've been doing a lot of travelling. Nice scenery.
It's been raining everyday, for the whole day, for around 2 weeks here in Baguio. We've had 3 typhoons affecting the CAR Region. Man, I hate this weather. Have a hard time going to work!
As for work, what's new..I'm still busy as hell.
I haven't seen Qryz and Antot for around 2 months. They're around, but it seems we (or maybe I just me..) are all too busy. Antot and Qryz texted 3 weeks ago that we get together and drink, but I had to turn them down coz I had a dinner appointment with my aunt and my father. But we text each other every now and then.
By the way, there's only me, Beth, Patrick, and the kids left in the house. Tay, Nay and Julie have migrated to the US. At the moment, they're in North Carolina with Ate Angie. They're going to New Jersey next week to visit Venus.
I think Venus is going to visit Canada next month. She's bringing Julie along. Maybe there's a chance you can get together or meet them.
Anyway bro, keep at it. Live the life, enjoy it to the fullest! Beth says "hi". Regards to Ron!

    later bro,

  2. Dear Ungga;

The web has been a very wide playground for me for the past two days.
    Wala kasi
akong nurse and I do not care about the monitoring. I seldom catch you
    at the
yahoo messenger. You must be flying high with your love life (inggit).

Got this one from my yahoo group. Pang-asar. Manhood should be
    replaced with
    "Machismo."

    The International Rules of Manhood

1: Under no circumstances may two men share an umbrella.

2: It is OK for a man to cry ONLY under the following circumstances:

    (a) When a heroic dog dies to save its master.

    (b) The moment Angelina Jolie starts unbuttoning her blouse.

    (c) After wrecking your boss' car.

    (d) One hour, 12 minutes, 37 seconds into "The CryingGame".

    (e) When she is using her teeth.

3: Any Man who brings a camera to a bachelor party may be legally
    killed and
    eaten by his buddies.

4: Unless he murdered someone in your family, you must bail a friend
    out of
    jail within 12 hours.

5: If you've known a guy for more than 24 hours, his sister is off
    limits
forever unless you actually marry her.

6: Moaning about the brand of free beer in a buddy's fridge is
    forbidden.
However complain at will if the temperature is unsuitable.

7: No man shall ever be required to buy a birthday present for another
    man. In
fact, even remembering your buddy's birthday is strictly optional. At
    that
point, you must celebrate at a strip bar of the birthday boy's choice.

8: On a road trip, the strongest bladder determines pit stops, not the
    weakest.

9: When stumbling upon other guys watching a sporting event, you may
    ask the
score of the game in progress, but you may never ask who's playing.

10: You may flatulate in front of a woman only after you have brought
    her to
climax. If you trap her head under the covers for the purpose of
    flatulent
    entertainment, she's officially your girlfriend.

11: It is permissible to drink a fruity alcohol drink only when you're
    sunning
on a tropical beach... and it's delivered by a topless model and only
    when it's
    free.

12: Only in situations of moral and/or physical peril are you allowed
    to kick
    another guy in the nuts.

13: Unless you're in prison, never fight naked.

14: Friends don't let friends wear Speedos. Ever. Issue closed.

15: If a man's fly is down, that's his problem, you didn't see
    anything.

16: Women who claim they "love to watch sports" must be treated as
    spies until
they demonstrate knowledge of the game and the ability to drink as much
    as the
    other sports watchers.

17: A man in the company of a hot, suggestively dressed woman must
    remain sober
    enough to fight.

18: Never hesitate to reach for the last beer or the last slice of
    pizza, but
    not both, that's just greedy.

19: If you compliment a guy on his six-pack, you'd better be talking
    about his
    choice of beer.

20: Never join your girlfriend or wife in discussing a friend of yours,
    except
if she's withholding sex pending your response.

21: Phrases that may NOT be uttered to another man while lifting
    weights:

    (a) Yeah, Baby, Push it!

    (b) C'mon, give me one more! Harder!

    (c) Another set and we can hit the showers!

22: Never talk to a man in a bathroom unless you are on equal footing:

i.e., both urinating, both waiting in line, etc. For all other
    situations, an
almost imperceptible nod is all the conversation you need.

23: Never allow a telephone conversation with a woman to go on longer
    than you
are able to have sex with her. Keep a stopwatch by the phone. Hang up
    if
    necessary.

24: The morning after you and a girl who was formerly "just a friend"
    have
carnal, drunken monkey sex, the fact that you're feeling weird and
    guilty is no
reason for you not to nail each other again before the discussion about
    what a
    big mistake it was occurs.

25: It is acceptable for you to drive her car. It is not acceptable for
    her to
    drive yours.

26: Thou shalt not buy a car in the colors of brown, pink, limegreen,
    orange or
    sky blue.

27: The girl who replies to the question "What do you want for
    Christmas?" with
"If you loved me, you'd know what I want!" gets an Xbox. End of story.

28: There is no reason for guys to watch Ice Skating or Men's
    Gymnastics. Ever.

We hope this clears up any confusion.

  5. dearest edgar,

i really enjoyed reading your letter ngem ti disadvantage na ket lallo nga namiss ka ta adu ti kayat ko nga ibaga, you know, the kind of talks we often have which is serious then becomes silly then becomes hilarious that we cant stop laughing! where in the world can you find such dynamic conversations of two beautiful people who truly understands each other just by winking an eye?

    ReplyDelete
  6. hello there,

thanks for the new pictures and the updates. I enjoy
the pictures they're beautiful and they give me a
    glimpse of your life there.

that is my new goal to buy a digital camera and learn
how to take pictures and then learn how to send them
through the computer. I regret not learning how to do
this in the Philippines. It would take a little while
but I think I can do it.

before I forget, thanks a lot for telling me about our
high school website. You're right I din't know it
existed. I'll try sending it to Martha. Martha used to
email me once in a while but when she had her daughter
no more. I guess motherhood is taking all her time and
is unable to email anymore. Nevertheless, I'll try if
her old email address is still active.

As for me, not much is going on. I missed very much
hanging out with friends that is one reason I enjoy
reading and looking at your pictures with your
friends. I do not have that here. In the circle of
group I belong to only my sister in law and my
cousin's wife are the only ones who are close to my
age. The problem is both of them have little kids so
we share a different kind of friendship. You know how
this kind of friendship works. Mostly only for their
benefit. Their lives revolve with their kids so that
is all they talk about. I can relate only because I
take care of my two nieces so their parents can both
go to work. The thing is I think fellow singles can
understand that I long to hang out with fellow singles
and talk nonsense not about husbands and kids of which
I do not have. Don't get me wrong I love my nieces but
sometimes I need to have some time for myself too.
When I see you with your friends it makes me homesick.
It makes me want to be in Baguio even for a day and
hang out. Hay, I know I'll be able to find friends
here in the future but right now,I miss old friends
    really bad.

Right now, I am still taking care of my nieces. More
or less live-in caregiver, just not being paid since
family. These several months I let go I've been in out
of depression and my body suffered. I gained thirty
pounds and I can feel how different my movements are.
I am sluggish and not as perky as before. I am at my
heaviest in all my life. I really had to wake myself
up and simply say STOP! What the heck am I doing? It's
gonna be an uphill battle I know. Not only with my
weight issues, careerwise as well. Hay, this is life
isn't it? when you think you have everything figured
out things just suddenly turn upside down.

I figure I cannot expect to change everything right
away but hopefully I'll continue to change what I can
and not worry about things I cannot control.

The first thing I started is going for a brisk walk at
least one hour a day everyday, so far I had been doing
it for a week now. I cannot do much with my eating
yet. I still get so hungry so I have to eat. I cannot
control my portions yet but I am aware of it and I am
still trying to figure out the best method that will
    work for me.

Your picture and note actually encouraged me since of
course going for a walk is a constant battle for me
right now simply because my body is protesting since
it got used to sedentary lifestyle. I know I don't
have to but I also know that it is a start to my way
    to recovery.

You are looking good. The hair is still new to me he
he he I guess it takes a little getting used to but
you're right have fun with it. Why not?

You take care for now. Keep on my friend.

    love,
    Marlind's
